Dr. Zimmerman was valedictorian for the Apache Junction High school class of 1984. She graduated in 1988 from MIT with a BS in Molecular Biology. She worked as a genetic engineer at U of A in Tucson. In 1989 she began studies at Ohio State University. She graduated in 1993 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has been a practicing veterinarian in Arizona since 1993.
